In the afternoon session, 40 girls were introduced to civil engineering. The girls got to get their hands dirty making concrete. They made "hands" by filling latex gloves with concrete. They were able to take the hands home with them as a souvenir. Students in these photos are from Beech Hill, Lisbon, North Haven, Winterport, Surry, Veazie, Hall-Dale and Medway.
Workshop presenters were civil engineering students Karen Gross and Andrea Downs. Will Manion and Josh MacDonald helped design and mix the concrete.
