Project participants are PaS students enrolled at the University of Maine. The project is funded by a grant through the Maine Department of Labor to explore how technology, and specifically how access to distance education courses, might support the education experience of University of Maine students enrolled in the Parents as Scholars (PaS) Program.

Women
in Non-Traditional Career Fields - Here
is a resource for girls interested in exploring
possibilities for their future schooling or
careers. Based on interviews with women in
non-traditional career fields working at the
University of Maine, the profiles are designed
to give girls an idea of careers open to them,
and what they can do to get there, hopefully
inspiring them to explore further. Links to
the women's respective department's WebPages
have been provided, where further information

Camps for Girls
Student
Women's Association - The
Student Women's Association (SWA) is a progressive,
feminist student organization, open to all women.
SWA builds community among university women and offers
opportunities for political as well as social activities.
The purpose of the Student Women's Association is
to improve the climate on campus for all women. Our
programs and activities include rape awareness programs,
yoga classes, gay rights activism, pro-choice activism
and the Beautiful Project. Our organization works
to keep the campus informed on issues of concern
to women as well as providing members with up-to-date
information on workshops, conferences and speakers
that will enhance their college experience. The Student
Women's Association empowers women to take the lead
on issues facing women.
